The course aimed to improve the students' English skills, covering word classes, tenses, reading, speaking, writing, and study skills. Despite challenges such as students' limited English knowledge, fearfulness, and lack of resources, the program was well-received, and additional students joined voluntarily. </span> </p> <p> <span> <span>  </span> </span> </p> <p> <span> The teachers' training focused on teaching English, grammar, learner-centered techniques, and behavior management. Teachers appreciated the training and requested it be conducted twice a year. Several of the internal sources noted here are available on our website: www.natronhealthcare.org. </span> </p> </div> <div data-rss-type="text"> <h3> <span> Summary of 2021: </span> </h3> </div> <div data-rss-type="text"> <p> <span> The year, as with 2020, was largely shaped by Covid – in particular our ability to travel to the communities and any real assessment of the impact on public health in Tanzania of the disease. We heard many narratives about large numbers of people being ill with Covid, but the Tanzanian Government was refusing to keep records of Covid deaths. (A close friend was diagnosed with Covid and told his prognosis in a whisper; he went to one of the main hospitals in Arusha, was put in a ward with others who were obviously also ill with Covid, and yet never received a formal diagnosis – even as the doctor told him he should call his priest.  Despite his oxygen saturation dropping below 62, he survived!)
